Have a Merry Christmas

I wish everyone a safe and blessed Christmas. I am looking forward to seeing my kids faces Christmas morning and enjoying the Christmas feast. We have been playing Christmas songs all week. My kids really love listening to the Alvin and Chipmunks version of them.

What is your Favorite Christmas song?

Hey Diva's

I have not posted here in a lil bit, so I decided to post my plans these coming weeks. Well I think I'm going to relax my hair pretty soon. I was hoping to have it done before New Years but I'm not to sure about that. I'm going to use my trusted Precise relaxer normal strength. I am going to try to get may hair as straight as possible. I should have posted a pic of my pony yesterday but forgot. I will do it again and post the pic. It was just a very wild out of control ponytail. I had my edges tied down cause they are a mess and my bang was a braid-out. I didn't know what else to do with it cause it just has a mind of its own right now. lol. I did a moisturizing deep condition last week and plan to do a protein one soon.I also need to start back baggying cause my ends are getting a bit split. Once I do this relaxer things will be a little easier and manage.

Acne!!!

Ladies and gents, I'm having a very "what I call" severe acne problem! Below is a pic of my left cheek. I'm having this problem on my right cheek and forehead also. Since my hormone balance has changed significantly, I have broke out very bad. Its really messing with my self esteem. Posting a pic here was very hard cause I'm embarrassed by it but I would like to show what I'm dealing with. Hopefully I will be able to compare a future pic of clear skin to this horrific one. I'm so use to having clear skin and for this to happen to me is keeping me down. As you can see dark spots appearing now. I need something that is inexpensive and is guaranteed to work. I was looking at Proactiv but there product bottles are only 1 or 2oz. That does not seem like much at all. Anyone know if that stuff really works? Have you tried it yourself? How long before you seen noticeable results? Do you know of any home remedies that will get the job done?

Jane Brownie Points Flirt! Coconutty

I'm not sure If that's the name or not, but I'm looking for this product. Its suppose to compare to MAC Embark. I need something for my eyebrows and I see this Embark used a lot. Since I don't have the funds to splurge on MAC I was looking for the closest thing to it. I also read that the product might have been discontinued. If that's the case is there another product on the reasonable side that compares to embark? I went and bought Ardell Brow Defining Powder. I never tried this before I just seen it in Walgreen while I was looking for the Jane product. I just got it to try it out. I got the Mink Brown color. I never did anything to my eyebrows other than having them arched. So this will be a first for me.
Anyway let me know if any of you have any suggestions or know where I can find this Jane Brownie Points. Thanks! Until Next Time......

Glycerin Mix Update!

OK. I used it on my hair and my daughters hair today and our hair is still moisturized even after I wore my stocking cap and wig. I am so loving this mix! My daughter's hair is so soft! Her hair always soaks up whatever I put in it. I only added about three tablespoons of the WN lotion in it. I keep her hair in braids and ponytails. I could not believe how soft and moisturized her hair was tonight before wrapping her hair up for bed. I have found a new moisturizer and guess what! I made it!!! Tell me about a mixture you made that works wonders for you....Until next time....

The Summer Heat and Its Downfalls!!!

When the temp gets in the upper 90's even hitting 100 is terrible. My hair has suffered from it tremendously. My hair gets incredibly dry and I get very lazy and the two don't mix. When I become lazy I neglect my hair. So I don't moisturize like I should. Even though I wear wigs they can cause you to sweat ALOT. The stocking cap does not help at all but I have to use it due to the combs snagging my hair without it.

Well I just made a mixture Im going to use on my hair until relaxer day. It consists of Glycerin, water, and Wave Nouveau Finishing lotion. I was going to add some peppermint oil, and Rosemary oil to it but the smell of peppermint was to over powering with only 5 drops so I decided not to add it this time. I just used it on my braids and my daughters hair and I can say dry no more! I did add a lil bit to much to my hair cause it started running down my forehead...lol. Now I know just a few squirts is all I need. It feels ok but Im going to see how long it will stay moist before applying it again. If your interested in the measurement of each product let me know. Until next time....

Changing Up My Regimen

I'm going to start back using MTG for the last 3 months of my stretch. Well actually I will only use it for 2 months cause I don't want to use it to close to my relaxer date which is the second week in Sept. I want to see how much more growth I can get these last couple of months. I will be applying MTG several times per week, at least 3 days per week at night. This stretch is getting harder and harder but I'm on the home stretch and will not give up now. I just wanted to update on what I'm planning on doing through the rest of this stretch. See you in the next post!

Sally's Beauty Card

Do any of you ladies have one? I have always been asked if I had one when I visit the Sally's Beauty Supply store but said no and just paid for my items. I did not know it was only $5 and I thought they were only for people who are licensed cosmetologist. What I'm trying to understand is the example they have on the Sally's site where they show the card number and circle the last 3 digits and then says YOUR PRICE $3.89 each. Is that the amount that will determine how much you pay for a product no matter what the price or what? Does everyone have the same 3 digit number at the end?

Help me better understand this card and savings. If you can answer the 2 previous questions and the following including any other info you have on the Beauty Club Card by Sally's. I would really appreciate it!

***Sally Beauty Club Card***

* Do you have one? Which one, Basic or Pro?
* Is it worth having?
* How much are you saving on average with every purchase?
* Do you find yourself visiting Sally's more often since you had it?
* Do you still get the $5 certificate if you got the card from the store? Or is this just an online offer?
* How often are these certificates sent to you? What do you have to do to get them?

My Flat Iron

I need to post this cause I'm in need to either more expensive, better quality flat iron or practice roller setting. During my process I encountered a snag with my flat iron that took out several stands of hair that i could not undo without breaking my hair off. I was trying to undo this for about 10 Min's until I realized that It was impossible.

The Flat Iron I was using is the only one I have which is the Andis Multi Heat Ceramic. This Iron gets my hair so straight and silky but the snagging is a big problem. I go through this snagging every time I use it but never loss this much hair at one time. I got this flat iron from Walmart for under $15 and it does straighten. Now I'm looking into getting a CHI, FHI, Sedu or Maxiglide. Since I wont be flat ironing anymore during this stretch so I have time to get a new one.

***What do you recommend?***

* CHI
* FHI
* SEDU
* Maxiglide
* Other ( Which one )

GVP Silk Remedy Product Review!!!

So what yall bee n waiting for.... The GVP Silk Remedy Review! What I will say right now is I cant keep my hands out of my ponytail! My hair feels so silky an soft and not at all coated or weighed down. I love love love this product! It is a very good product and I can honestly say I do not plan on buying the original CHI Silk Infusion anytime soon, cause this products works great! My hair smells great and feels wonderful. What I did when using the product after washing and conditioning are as follows.

* I shampooed with Creme of Nature(Red Label)
* Rinsed
* I then Conditioned with HELTR
* Rinsed
* After that I applied the Aphogee 2 min reconstucter and left it on for 10 mins
* Rinsed
* Then I applied my leave-ins and detangled
* I applied Aphogee Green tea and Aphogee Pro Vitamin Leave -in
* I then applied my new BFF GVP Silk Remedy
* I air dried half way then blow dried the rest.
* Finally I flat ironed and put it in a ponytail tied down and that's how my hair is right at this moment.

All I did for right now is wrap a satin scarf around my edges until I go to sleep so my pony tail is hanging down. When Its time for bed I will put my silk bonnet over my ponytail.

That's it ladies! I'm so glad I decided to try this product. Any questions ladies leave a comment. I love this product and its my staple

Skinny Jeans

I have several pairs of them and love them! They frame my shape very well without being 'yeast infection gonna happen' tight. They can be worn with heels, or flats. I don't like to wear them with sneakers though. But sometimes I do. I'm a very casual, sporty girl so heels are not in my closet. I don't even know how to walk in skinny heels. I love the way heels look with skinny jeans with a cute top. But I would rather wear some nice sandals with the nice top instead of bust my butt trying to act like I know what I'm doing.

***What about you....***

* Are you wearing skinny Jeans this summer?
* What kind of shoes are you wearing with them?
* What do you consider the best way to rock skinny jeans

Today is WASH DAY!!!

During these summer months wash days are the best! I'm going to wash my hair then do my regular routine after wards including my new addition GVP Silk Remedy! I will post back in my review section on how I like it.

I took that trip to Sally's

I seen all the sales they were having but all I wanted was the GVP Silk Remedy! Well I got it and am taking my braids out as I type this. I know straightening my hair as hot as it is outside is only going to last for a day, maybe. But I have a question for you ladies.

***What do you do?***

* How do yall incorporate it into your hair prior to styling, applying heat etc?
* What gave you the best results?
* If you have ever used CHI Silk Infusion how do you compare the two?
* On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) How would you rate it?
* Would you recommend it to a friend?

Wash and Go!!!

This is basically when you wash your hair and go! This is done by a lot of ladies. I always wanted to try this but I have very thick, coarse 4a/4b hair, and my hair will look a hot mess if it air dried without proper supervision. LOL!

***A Few Questions***

* What do yall ladies do that have thick, coarse, kinky hair to get a great wash n’ go?
* What Products do yall use?
* How do you wear your hair?
* What is the outcome at the end of the day?

Thanks for participating!!!

Wigs and the Summer!!!

I must say that wigs are not that comfortable to wear in the warmer months. You will most likely sweat more and your wig will look tacky. But I must say I love my wigs! They are the only protective style I could wear without my hair looking boring. I wore my wig this weekend for my sons B-Day and Memorial Day and It was OK, since it was not all that hot. I still have my box braids in my hair and I just braided them back, and threw my wig on along with my eye and face makeup and was out the door. I guess half wigs would be a better route but since I'm about 8 months post relaxer and if I sweat just a little my new growth will look like a jungle. I guess I'm going to stick to these box braids for the rest of this stretch.

***For the ladies that are wearing the wigs this summer***

* Are you wearing full or half wigs?
* How many weeks post relaxer are you?
* How are you managing your new growth, the heat and wigs from day to day?

Sally's Sale!!!

Don't we love Sally's sales! Well I just found this out and wanted to pass it along. (Thanks KISS) Anyway all month long Sally is having a sale on the GVP-Generic Value Products(2 for $10), Mane and Tail(BOGO), and Aphogee(2 for $15)

Im more interested in the GVP cause I would like to try the GVP Silk Remedy, which is suppose to be the generic brand to Chi Silk Infusion. The Chi Silk Infusion is very pricy for such a little bit of the product. I heard so many good reviews about the GVP Silk Remedy that I want to try it. Spending $8.50 for 6oz instead of $15 for 2oz is well worth the try!

When I try it I will post a review on it. So look out for it!

Eyebrow Threading

I have always wanted to try this technique. It is considered the best method according to love to know website. Here is what they have to say about it.

Eyebrow threading utilizes thread that is twisted around the hairs on the eyebrows. Then, the thread is pulled sharply, and every eyebrow hair attached to it is removed. The result is a very straight eyebrow line. The hairs that are removed are done so by the follicle, so the clean-looking results can last up to a few weeks.

Most beauticians will agree that eyebrow threading is better for a person’s skin that using hot wax to remove unwanted facial hair. The skin near the eyebrow region can be very sensitive, and using wax on it can lead to break-outs, skin irritation, or even burned skin. Also, hot wax can cause the skin to peel or become wrinkled. This is why using a method of removing unwanted eyebrow hair that does not involve the application of any sort of heated substance or chemical is seen as beneficial.

Using tweezers on eyebrow hair is basically the same as threading the hair, but a pair of tweezers is only able to capture one or two hairs at a time. Also, when using a tweezers, there is no guarantee that the hair will be pulled out by its follicle. Tweezing eyebrow hair can be a time-consuming process, and cannot produce an even eyebrow line the way threading can.

Using a razor to remove unwanted eyebrow hair is not recommended. Razors do not remove hairs from their follicles, and they are often difficult to control. An eyebrow shaped with a razor will most likely look strange and full of stubble.

It seems painful but so is waxing. If the results last weeks at a time I need to find a place near me that does them. Do any of you get this technique done? How is your experience?

Memorial Day Weekend!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend! I know there will be lots of cookouts, traveling and drinking, So if your doing any of the above please be safe! I'm celebrating Memorial Day and my sons birthday this weekend. I'm looking forward to these cookouts. Yes I'm planning on having several. There is nothing like the smell of charcoal coming from a flaming grill with some music playing in the background. I hope everyone enjoys themselves! Let me know how your weekend turned out.

Well

It goes to show how much craft supplies I have cause I found some clear stretchy cord! Just what I need to make some Beaded hair combs. If you have not read my previous blog post I was talking about making Beaded hair combs similar to hair zing. So all I need now is the hair combs. So I will post back once I find the right combs.

Beaded Hair Combs....

I have been thinking about making these for some time now. People any hair type could wear them. Whether your hair is long, short, curly or kinky. They will be double beaded hair combs similar to hair zings or hair hugger but with my own little twist. I have the beads....I have swarvoski crystal, pearls, seed beads and so many others. Since this is a hair blog why not make some hair accessories to bring in the summer! I need to get some hair combs...I was thinking clear. I have a stretchy cord but it is white I need to get it in clear. Once I get this going and actually finish one I will post pics of it here. So stay tuned for that!

Small Update

Hello. Just wanted to update what I did to my hair. I added small-medium size box braids to my hair a week ago. There is no added hair extensions. I came out pretty well. I kept trying to take photos of the look but got so bust and kept forgetting. I washed my hair twice so the style is a little worn out now. Sometimes I will twist or braids them to have to wavy look, or I would wear them straight, and there is times i will bun them up. If I decide to redo them I will make sure i take pictures. I'm using my same hair regimen with these braids so nothing has changed. Except I moisturize more often now. Maybe 2-3 times per day. So that is it for now. See you in the next post.

Its Here!

Well i added the Ruby Red Jazzing hair dye today and i think it came out well! Some strands are brighter than others due to previously dyed hair. I flat ironed and wrapped it so i will try to take pics of the out come tomorrow. My hair is so thick i had a very hard time wrapping it! My new growth reverted back a little after applying the Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Finishing Lotion which made me mad. I applied it again and sealed my hair with extra virgin olive oil. I wrapped my hair the best I could and put my satin scarf on. I'm going to do a review on the Wave Nouveau soon along with another product so look out for that. See you soon.

Jazzing *Ruby Red*

This post was on my other blog but decided to add this one here. Yep I'm considering adding some color to my hair! I want to do it soon to avoid possible damage from the relaxer I'm getting in Sept. I'm thinking of an auburn color or maybe a little lighter since my hair is a dark color and might show up really well. I'm sitting here right now with Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol deep conditioner in my hair and will rinse it out in the morning. After i rinse that out i will put the Jazzing in and sit under my hooded dryer. I will then Shampoo with Kids Organics. I will rinse in the sink since i don't want to have dye stains all over my tub. After that I'm going to put Silk Elements Moisturizing Treatment. I want all the moisture i can get cause I'm going to need it. I'm only adding color to a portion of my hair in the front. I'm ready for a change cause I'm so bored with my hair! I will post pics when i get a good shot of the color. Until next time Tah-Tah

15 Cornrows!!!

OMG! It took me over 2hrs to do 15 darn braids! My new growth and the length of my hair was getting so tangled in the process! I was getting so frustrated i wanted to start pulling and yanking! But I calmed down. I'm keeping these braids in for 2 months at least cause i cant go through this again anytime soon! I have 5 more months and I'm hoping i make it. I just couldn't believe how my hair was acting up. I know i should expect this, this far into my stretch, but these cornrows will help me finish this stretch. I didn't lose much hair in the process just a pea size ball of hair and that's good. I sprayed some surge on my hair to help detangle my roots. I will be washing my braids weekly with a DC like i been doing. Applying MTG and Surge, Moisturizing with Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Finishing Lotion or S-Curl and sealing with JBCO. That's it! I just had to vent about what i just been through.

Its more than a trim!!!

Hey Ladies, I have some terrible ends. My hair needs to be cut. I say cut and not trim cause i think about 1-2 inches need to come off. I'm so pissed right now at myself. Every time I look at me ends i get disgusted. Its my fault cause before i came to this site I got lazy with my hair and didn't moisturized or wore scarfs at night. On top of that I reached my next goal of BSL and now i have to start over. I think i would have reached MBL or close by my next relaxer in Sept. I am so pissed off right now. I'm going to trim my hair myself cause i don't trust anyone else in my head with scissors in their hands. Right now I'm trying to decide if its best to do it on wet or dry hair. Ladies what you think?

OMG!!!

I took my braids out last night and was suppose to DC overnight last night, but it took me 3 hrs to take out 15-20 braids! My hair was so thick and out of control! I was trying to take pics of my hair but the pics did not show the true thickness. I showed my hubby and he said my ponytail was thicker and longer than it showed in the pic so i guess i will have to wait until Sept to take some pics.

Anyway the whole point of this blog is that i used half a jar of the Mega Cholesterol just now trying to DC. My hair is so thick that I think if i DC like this again(with my hair out) I will finish this jar! I always used the DC with my hair in braids so I never used that much. But i like the feel of my hair when its out after using my products. When I'm in braids i not as fun!...lol. Am i the only one that uses so much product at one time!?! I'm glad the Mega Cholesterol is about $4.50 at Sally's and not $10.99 cause then i would not know what to do. My next DC will be in braids. I might not do it like this again for about 2 months from now. I will try to take pics of my new growth after i air dry.

For the ladies with really really thick hair do you use more of a product or even finish a product after only a couple of uses? What do you do to stretch your products? I think i will have to just DC in braids most of the time to stretch mine. Any other suggestions?

Chapter 3

I'm half way through my year stretch and wanted to post about the new products i have and tried.

I have started using the Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol and i must say it is the bidnezz!!! My new growth after 6 months post was so soft i could not believe it! I'm going to use that from now on cause nothing got my new growth and hair that soft in a long time. I DC with it over night and Shampoo with Creme of Nature and it detangles my hair so well. I'm going to DC with the Olive Oil Replenishing Pak(ORS)tonight and see what results i get and I'm going to use the Silk Elements Moisturizing Treatment for about 5-10 mins and rinse out. Since my hair is in braids i don't know how soft it will get my hair if at all. But I'm going to use it anyway. I like to feel the results of products i use. I guess with the braids it helps me keep my hands out my hair. I miss my hair so much!

I have been using so much moisture this past 2 weeks i need to use ORS for a lil protein. All in all my hair seems to be doing OK. I have alot of new growth and i was surprised that it was so soft. Then when i twisted it to air dry my hair was so fluffy and the smell was great! I kept sniffing my hair!...lol. I just wanted to update how things are going. I'll chat with yall in my next post!

Im just adding previous blog posts

These posts are from another site i blog on. I just want to make sure yall know everything I have been doing during that time. So you will see alot of posts back to back.

Product Update

Hey Ladies! Yep the product junkie in me showed its ugly head yet again! But this time I'm glad it did because I'm loving these products. Yesterday i purchased two products that was recommended to me One of the products was Creme of Nature Shampoo( Red Label ). This shampoo detangled my hair great. My hair was still a little tangled but nothing like what it would have been with any other shampoo. This will be my staple shampoo from now on. The other product was Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol all i can say is WOW!! I did an over night deep condition with it my hair felt so soft when it was rinsed out. Oh and the smell was so wonderful. I rinsed the deep conditioner out and washed my hair with the Creme of Nature. Then i put Aphogee two minute in for about 5 mins rinsed that out twisted my hair so it could air dry and when it was dry it felt like butter. I'm going to do this process twice a week rotating with every wash the Olive Oil Replenishing Pak as a deep conditioner. I also bought the ORS in the bottle not Pack.

I braided my hair in some cornrows about 20. Added MTG moisturized with S-curl and sealed with Castor oil. I will do this process until my braids grow out.
